About Me

I became a psychotherapist, because I believe in people, and I believe in our potential. It’s amazing to be able to help people achieve that potential through my work.

Pleased to meet you

I’m originally from London, England, where I first trained as a psychotherapist over twenty years ago. Having relocated to New York City in 2021, I undertook a psychoanalytic training at the William Alanson White Institute, both to further my knowledge, and to gain a license to practice in New York. I am now a New York State Licensed Psychoanalyst. (Licence # 001308)

My original training, back in 2002, was in the Psychosynthesis approach to psychotherapy, an integrative model, drawing on a rich variety of theories and techniques from the various schools of psychology. These days, my work is most influenced by my study of ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy,) an evidence-based therapeutic approach that aims to accelerate the process of therapy, effecting deep and lasting change. I completed a core training in ISTDP with Dr Patricia Coughlin in 2017. I’m so passionate about this powerful approach, which has changed my own life, and the lives of so many people I’ve worked with.

I have also undergone trainings with Kristin Osborn in Leigh McCullough’s APT (Affect Phobia Therapy,) and with Ferruccio Osimo in IEDP (Intensive Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.)

I have a master’s degree in psychotherapy from the University of East London in the UK, and a certificate in psychoanalysis from the William Alanson White Institute in New York City.

I prefer to work in person. There’s something special about meeting with another human being in the real world, and I also think it’s good to be able to meet in a neutral space, away from your usual cares. That said, I can also offer online sessions.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to know more. And if you’re ready to go ahead and book an initial trial therapy session, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
